Project: Showdown!!!

Michele, owner of Heroes Kingdom in Vermont, hired me to make her this 3' x 3' urban exterior map for CARNAGECON, a vermont-based gamer convention. Note this cool feature: destructable fences! Take Doomsday, Unstoppable, and this snazzy action feature, and suddenly the whole 3D experience comes alive...
The board/ground is a 1/8th piece of plywood, 3'x3', with one layer of papier mache over it, and the buildings are all made out of layers and layers of thin cardboard, glued together, with interior reenforcements for strenth. It was all painted by hand using a standard sized brush and acryllic paint. The grid I made using a ruler and a thin-tipped brush. The wooden fencing is some cheapo plywood, chopped into small, rough strips and glued together, and a very small fence keeps them pushed up against the sidewalk until you remove the fence-pieces. Billboards are computer generated, printed out and glued on.
